Thankful 30 Day 8: A Christmas Tradition Worth Remembering

Some traditions become such a familiar part of our lives that we almost forget to tell their stories. Today’s Thankful 30 prompt is a reminder to capture one of those memories.

Day 8: What tradition are you grateful to have in your life?

For me, it’s putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. This is something I learned from my mother, and it’s a tradition I’m grateful to carry on.

For today’s Scrap Journal page, I paired Christmas tree photos with festive red and green papers. The photos show the trees, but the journaling preserves the connection to my mother—and that’s the part I especially want to remember.

Document a tradition of your own

Your tradition might be a holiday celebration, a favorite family recipe, or a simple weekly routine. Choose a photo or two and write about what you do, how it started, and why it matters to you.

If you’re following along with Thankful 30, use the workbook to collect your ideas and work at your own pace.
