I have to admit that I was having some trouble with this particular challenge. I am not a big rainbow gal and I could not find and St. Patrick's Day stamps so I used the green card base and added the word "Celebrate" from an older (retired) stamp set.

I do like my use of the wooden clothes pins. They are so cute! I also used the exclusive Elemental Workshop on the Go stamp set to create this fun scalloped banners.

Go Fish Challenge (...really late)

Today's post is a bit overdue. I wanted to take part in the latest Go Fish challenge but I didn't make my own deadline...pitiful, I know. But better late than never right? Here is the latest challenge...

I decided on a simple card (not too surprising I know) that let the text stand out. I used my Tulip ink (CTMH) with my Headline Alphabet stamp set. Next I used my black ink and stamped the text over the stamped letter. The text was one of the background stamps from the Universal Background set.

Here is a view at an angle so you could see more of the dimension of this card.

I still wanted to add a bit more text if I could so I decided to use some cute butterflies from Just Blooms Flutter Paper Shapes. The butterflies come in 4 different sizes and one group has more text on it. I distressed the edges with some Tulip ink and added some cute little pearls to create a body for the butterfly.

Giggle Layout with Lucy

Hiya Peeps!

Another day another 12x12 layout. I am still using up my so cool Lucy paper from CTMH. This page was inspired by the border below. I am going to find some silly picture of me as a child somewhere to add to the scrapbook. I really need to be better about including photos and memories of me in our scrapbooks.

I am using the Hooray Bouquet stamp set again for this layout (a picture of the set is below). The I used the flower stamp by stamping the image twice, cutting each one out and then layering it. I then added some cute Bitty Opaque Pearls to the center. I used one of the shapes from the Dimensional Elements - Mixed Shapes that come with the Art Philosophy cartridge.

Each 12x12 sheet of patterned paper from CTMH has a 1/2" - 3/4" strip with either an accent design or in this case, text with the definition of the word giggle. I also used a similar strip as an accent to the photo mat (the diamond strip).

Here is a peek at the Hooray Bouquet stamp set...you will notice that each flower below that has a red line around it will coordinate with a cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge.

Now, let's get to the new project...

I am so excited to share today's project with you. I decided to continue my use of the CTMH Lucy paper line to decorate a beautiful distressed white frame as a gift for my sister-in-law. I purchased my frame at Wal-Mart and jazzed it up!

The different size flowers were cut using my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge---gotta get this one if you don't have it. Ask ME how I can help you get it with a discount...you can even see the Lucy paper liner with diamond images I added to the mat to tie everything together. Love it!

This final picture is a bit fuzzy (sorry) but you should be able to see all the fun bling I used...the Bitty Assortment that includes the pearl stick pin and the Bitty Sparkles which includes the rhinestone gems. Again, I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the flowers and used my new stamp set called Hooray Bouquet which has clear stamp images that coordinate with these flowers (I didn't want to stamp this time, I wanted to show off the pretty Lucy paper instead). The sentiment was taken from the Hooray Bouquet stamp set (see below).

Here is a peek at the Hooray Bouquet stamp set...you will notice that each flower below that has a red line around it will coordinate with a cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge. The current catalog has 16 sets that will coordinate with the Art Philosophy cartridge as did a number of sets from the prior catalog. The sentiment is also covered with Lucy paper and I use a chipboard element that comes in a full sheet of images (along with 2 other sheets of shapes) that all coordinate with...yup, you guessed it, the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge!

Beauty Layout with Lucy

Hello All,

Today I am posting a single page layout (12x12) that shows off a new paper line by CTMH called Lucy. It is bright and girly and I had a lot of fun playing with it. I live in a house with boys so I don't get to do many girly layouts! This one is all ready for a 5x7 photo and 2 - 3x3 sidebar photos.

I like adding something to my photo mats. In this one I took a strip of paper and pleated it to make it look like a ribbon. I also used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out this flower. I finished it off with a bit of bling in the middle.

Here is a close up of the banner title I created using more cuts from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I used my grey wool ink with my Trinity Alphabet set.

This angled photo shows off the dimension I created in this layout. You can also see the Bitty Opaque Pearls I used on the point of each banner.

Catching 282 lbs with Victory

Hello,

Today's post highlights a fishing trip that my husband was on about 12 years ago. This particular deep sea fishing trip was an annual event for my husband and some of his friends. But, this particular trip was pretty special as they ended up catching 282 lbs of tuna! Here is my salute to his remarkable fishing adventure in a double page layout.

Here is a look at the title. I created it using the Art Philosophy cartridge - this is a fantastic cartridge that has so much that it has quickly become my favorite cartridge.

This page shows off a fantastic product of CTMH, it is the Flip Flap which allows me to layer photos on top of each other to create a small photo book on the footprint of a 4x6 photo. This layout uses 3 flaps which allows me to pack more photos into the layout than you would think...this particular spot held 5 pictures!

Here is my prep for the journaling. The corrugated cardboard accent from Milepost Shapes will be pointing directly to where the journal box will be...I have some more information to gather before I finish it. You may notice that I distressed the bracket with ink to add more drama. I am also showing off my new favorite buttons...Wooden Buttons. I used some chocolate Waxy Flax as thread too.

The final photo shows off more Milepost Shapes, Wooden Buttons and one of CTMH's fabulous new stamp sets...Pure Adventure. I also used my Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the shapes in cardstock before I stamped the image on it...this is just one of the MANY stamp sets that CTMH has released that coordinates with cartridge.

LUCAS - the layout

Hello Everyone,
Today I want to share a layout I did of one of our dogs, Luke. He is just so photogenic and an all-around wonderful friend to me that I just had to share this wonderful backyard moment this past Fall.

In this layout I am introducing a bunch of new items from the CTMH catalog. Let's start with the paper. These fun and masculine paper from the new Victory paper pack.

One of the embellishments I created used the Pure Adventure stamp set. I used my chocolate ink and stamped the image on some of the Victory designer paper, cut it out and popped it up. Are those not the sweetest eyes or what?

Here is a close up of one of my favorite new embellishments from the new catalog...WOODEN BUTTONS!

Here are some more of those wooden buttons...these are the darker ones...the ones above are the natural ones.

Here is another one of the stamped images from the Pure Adventure stamp set. Plus I used the woodgrain stamp from the Universal Background set on the chocolate paper to tie in the look with the title and the rustic feel of the Pure Adventure stamps.

And, one of my favorite parts of the layout is the title. I stamped his name using the Posterboard Alphabet. Then I used the woodgrain stamp from the Universal Background stamp set to add some texture - which coordinates nicely with the paper and other stamps.

Welcome to my submission post for the Go Fish Challenge Blog. Today is the day that Challenge #10 is announced and I hope you decide to play along. Here is the Challenge:

And here is my take on this particular challenge...a special Valentine!

I am using a brand new stamp out today from Close to My Heart called Adore. It is a beautiful heart stamp with the phrase "I Adore You" included for only $6.95! In this close up you can see the different colors contract nicely. I am using CTMH's Tulip for the Heart and the background paper is Lagoon. The ribbon is actually Hibiscus Burst ribbon from PTI. I used my White Daisy craft ink (CTMH) to create the text background.

This card is has wonderful dimension and texture to it. I probably could have created more drama if I had embossed the stamping with clear embossing powder...next time...

Winter Wonderland Day 7 - The Final Episode

The final day has arrived and with it I have a 2 page layout to share with you. This layout (without any photos) was taken directly from the design sheet in the WOTG Kit for Winter Wonderland. I have to admit I wish a I had some photos to share but it has been unseasonably warm here in North Carolina. It has been in the upper 50s and low 60s as far as temperature goes so there is not much chance of snow these days.

I like how the white bases to the pages make it feel like snow.

Here is a close up of of the title. I used the large Friendship Alphabet set. It is a fun and very useful set for titles on all kinds of layouts. I also used a rhinestone from the Clear Sparkles set to dot the "I" in my title.

I used the snowflakes on the base paper to make it look like falling snow...and again with the sparkles...

I used some of the sentiments from the exclusive WOTG kit to run around the side of the photo mat. All this is really taken right from the design guide in the kit so it was easy peasy.

Here is another Foundry Clip with Clear Sparkle - I just love this combination.

And here is the final photo with the double mat for the photos and it you look close at the grey "ribbon" you will find it is really a stamp.

Hello and Happy Monday. Today is Winter Wonderland Day 6 and you are about to see another fun card I made using my trusty Winter Wonderland WOTG Kit. This is the last card from this kit...I promise. See, another snowflake with a rhinestone...I told you I couldn't help myself.

Here is a little closer shot of the sentiment included in the set. I distressed the edges with the coordinating blue ink.

Winter Wonderland Day 5

Big picture today of Winter Wonderland cards from Day 5. These are some small note cards or even gift tags made with scraps from the Winter Wonderland WOTG Kit. Just a simple snowflake stamped off the page with a clear sparkles in the center for some style. Frankly, I don't know how to stamp a snowflake and NOT add some bling!

I just love to soft blue and grey combination. Cool but warm at the same time...hmmmm.

Welcome back for Day 3 of Winter Wonderland Week.

Today's card is another design inspired by the Winter Wonderland Workshop on the Go Kit. Did I mention that each kit comes with instructions on some wonderful scrapbook layouts? It also provides instructions to make four different cards. Each card this week is my version of those card designs in the kit.

Here is a close up of the sentiment and a glimpse of the Clear Sparkles I added to the snowflakes.

Here is a look at what I did to the inside of the card. I kept the circular flow going and liked the idea of it flowing off the side of the card.

I wanted to use some of the sentiments from the exclusive stamp set in the Winter Wonderland Workshop on the Go. I though a thank you card would be a nice change to all the holiday cards that have been made this past month.

Here is a close up of the beautiful snowflake with added Clear Sparkles. This is a perfect thank you card to give someone for doing something special for you this winter season.

Winter Wonderland Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my Winter Wonderland Week. This week is dedicated to those of you currently shoveling snow. All the projects this week were made using the Winter Wonderland Workshop on the Go Kit (WOTG).

First up is a card featuring the exclusive WOTG stamp set. This kit comes with some beautiful wintry paper, an exclusive stamp set and the foundry pins and some clear sparkles (aka bling). The focus of this card is a fun cup with a second layer of text. This is a two-step stamping project so if you want you can just use the cup for a simple look or use the coordinating text stamp to add some pizzazz. I also used the Foundry Pins and Clear Sparkles from the CTMH Kit.

Here is a close up of the cup and accents. I really like how the Clear Sparkles fit perfectly into the space on the Foundry Clips.

I also like the combination of blues, chocolate and grey colors in this set. I hope you have enjoyed this card. Come back tomorrow for Day 2 and another fun winter card!

Roxie For A Special...Card

Hello and TGIF!
Welcome back to another Roxie "left-over" card.

I used my Art Philosophy cartridge for this card. I cut the card base at 4-1/2". Then I cut the base for the stamp at 2" with a mat for it cut at 2-1/4". I popped them up on a distress black square mat the put it on the card. I really like the animal print paper in the Roxie kit. I made cuts with the paper that fit the circle card and added some of those fantastic Antiqued Copper Brads that were used in Wednesday's card. I left the boxes on the card unchecked so that whoever uses the card can decide which one to choose (this card will be sold in my Etsy shop).

Can you believe how much you get with the products in this kit? I have a whole other week of projects to show beginning with another 12x12 layout on Monday, another card on Wednesday and a special project for Friday...you will have to come back next week and see what I am talking about!

Roxie I Adore You Card

Hello!
Today's project is a card made using scraps from the Roxie Workshop on the Go kit. I absolutely LOVE the paper in this kit. If you don't want the whole kit you can just buy the paper in the Level 2 paper pack. Here's the card...

In addition to the paper and stamp set that came in the Roxie WOTG kit, I added some Antique Copper Brads and some Paper Butterflies. I used some Desert Sand paper and created pleats to run from top to bottom...all I needed was my trusty Scor-Pal. I have to admit that my favorite part of the card is the dimensional butterflies. There are 3 layers of butterflies on this card. I distressed then with my Desert Sand ink and added the brad for the body.

Today I want to show you an awesome thing...the Workshop on the Go kit. With this kit you get patterned paper, a special acrylic stamp set designed just for the kit and cool accessories to create wonderful projects you design yourself (or you can use the guide included) to create some wonderful layouts, cards or other great projects. Today I an showing off what I created with the Roxie WOTG kit. I decided to create the 2 page (12x12) layout featured in the guide included in the kit. You have to tell me what you think...

Go Fish Challenge #8

Hello!

Today's post is all about the GoFish! Challenge #8. The challenge is to create a project that is white on white (monotone). To see what projects Amy and I did as well as see the prize up for grabs go check it out HERE.

I decided to create a new year's card...

You may not be able to tell but I decided to use the natural light on my screen porch for the photo. I also used my new favorite Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. You know I am all about the clean and simple cards and this is definitely that. The only color I used was Twilight cardstock (CTMH). I am also using the new inLinkz tool that shows off the photos/links of all the products used - isn't that cool?!

This is a fantastic birthday card. I love the colors...such a nice change from all the Christmas cards floating around. This card features the fun stamps in the Another Year stamp set.

Hello!

Today's project was created using my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, some CTMH paper (Believe) and some scrap paper and brads. I used the box shape, adding some strips on either side for contrast and popped a home-made poinsettia flower (again using the Art Philosophy cartridge) on top for some holiday fun. Here is a step-by-step break down:

1. I cut out the box shape at 11" using some Sweet Leaf card stock (CTMH)

2. Next I added some strips of patterned paper from my Believe packet (CTMH). Each strip is cut at 1/2" by 4-1/2" and glued on all four sides.

3. Here is an aerial view of the box so you can see the room inside for a small gift.

4. Next I cut out some leaves at 1" each and flowers at 2-1/2" and 3" flowers. I also used some bits from my brads collection.

5. As you can see, I layered the flowers, glued on the leaves and added the brads to the center. Once I curled up the edges it gave it a more authentic look.

6. Here is a look at the top of the gift with the flower as the closure.

7. Here is the final photo that shows the gift box from the side to show off the box and flower.

Season's Greetings!

Hello!

Today's card was created using the Seasonal Sentiments stamp set and the snowflakes from yesterday's card.

Cards don't get any more clean and simple than this one. I used my Holiday Red ink (CTMH) and the Season's Greetings sentiment to add a pop of color to this white card. The key to this card is that I used my snowflakes from yesterday's card as an embossing agent to get the snowflake shape embedded in this card. I got the idea from an awesome crafter named Lisa Stenz. How cool is that? As a reminder the snowflakes were cut four times at 2" from my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge then I ran the card base, the snowflakes and the appropriate "Cuttlebug sandwich" and voila, an awesome embossed snowflake. I am definitely going to have to use this technique again. I finished it all up by using my corner chomper to round the edges - I just like how this whole card came out.

Let it Snow!

Hello!

Today's card is another clean and simple card celebrating the season with snow! I used my new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (fun!).

I used my Art Philosophy cartridge and cut out four snowflakes at 2" each and then stacked them up to give them some dimension. I used my CTMH inks (mixed colors to match my paper) and the Let it Snow sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments. I just love how clean and bright this card is and I know it will make a wonderful holiday card for someone on my family's list. I want to wish everyone Happy Hanukkah. I believe today is the first day of Hanukkah and so I wanted to create a festive card celebrating the beginning of the holiday.

Hello!

First, I want to thank everyone for the kind words of support following my announcement that TFD is closing down at the end of the year. It was difficult but necessary decision. Now, that being said, I am still going to be here playing with my stamp and Cricut cartridge collection sharing all kinds of new things with you. I will try and do more videos and fun giveaways so please keep coming back to visit.

Now, this is the week leading up to Christmas and I have a bunch of fun cards to share with you. This week will be all about Christmas and Hanukkah. Today's card is another fun one using the Sentiments of the Season (or Seasonal Sentiments) stamp set.

How fun is this card? I used some of my CTMH paper and ink (I have a huge CTMH stash so you might want to get used to seeing it in the coming year) and some festive bling for the retro snowflakes. I don't do much with rounded corners but I liked the look here.

Hello Everyone,

I want to thank each and everyone of the followers here at TradeFish Designs. It has been a year I will never forget and each of you who posted comments and joined in on the Challenges over at GoFish! have been a big part of it and I am so grateful for each and every one of you.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that I am closing down the TradeFish Designs stamp company and store at the end of this month. It has been a wonderful adventure but, with a poor economy and my recent job loss, there is just no way to keep the TradeFish Designs company going. Now, I am not going anywhere. I am still TradeFish Designs and my blog will go on as it did before the company was born. I will just be back to crafting (I will just no longer be selling my own stamps). I will be making a few changes and I hope you will continue to visit and comment as I have enjoyed getting to know all of you.

I do want to make sure that you all know that the Go Fish Challenge blog is not going anywhere either. I will still be hosting a challenge twice a month (1st and 15th) and offering fun prizes by another sponsor. In fact, a new challenge is hitting the blog today so please go to the Go Fish! Challenge blog and check it out!
