On My Couch and Additions Cards

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Today's post is all about a cozy chair and friendship. I am focusing on a wonderful stamp set design by an incredibly talented woman named Lisa Johnson. For proof of her brilliance please visit her blog (it is a must for daily viewing). The sets I am using are On My Couch and On My Couch Additions sold by Papertrey Ink (PTI).

The first photo highlights the Picnic Plaid impression plate thanks to the distressing provided by the Chamomile ink cube. It has a shabby, comfortable look. The bright red of the Pure Poppy paper and ink contrast with the white embossed background.

The close up of the scene highlight the great details found in this set. The books and mugs are colored with some of my Copic markers. The books and the mug were stamped using Memento Black Ink - which allows me to color with Copics and avoid any blurring of the ink and markers.

The second card is so fun. I like the idea of 2 chairs side by side. The color combination I chose was Berry Sorbet and Aqua Mist. I reversed the colors for the pillows. The rug was stamped with Spring Moss to help ground the chairs. The table and accesories were stamped with Dark Chocolate ink and Memento Black ink so I could have fun coloring with my Copics. For some reason this picture is a but dark but the next picture is a close up.

This close up shows you the colors a bit better as well as my coloring mistakes (oops on the the wall flower). I love this light springy color combination. It has been announced that this set of stamps will now have a set of coordinating dies available so I don't have to cut out the chair and couch (not used in this blog entry). I see a layout in my future with these sets as I have some great photos of my husband and step-son snoozing away on a cozy chair and sofa...

I hope you enjoyed these entries. I love the chairs so much I just purchased PTI's newly released Chair-ished (another fabulous design by Lisa) as well as the dies that match the stamp sets used above (so cute).. Come back tomorrow for my final post in my Just Because Card cartridge series. And, as always, HAPPY CRAFTING!

Both are soooo cute! Isn't that just a fabulous set and so easy to get creative with? I love the details in the second card and I love the simplicity of the first. Both are winners!
